Sofa Decor Editorial and Product Team

Sofa Decor publishes sofa cover buying, fit, care and product-claim content for Australian shoppers. This page explains who owns the content, how pages are reviewed and how unsupported claims are avoided.

Content ownership

Product and Fit Team

Owns sizing, variant, material, care and fit guidance. This team reviews whether a page should describe a product as stretch, separate-piece, plush, pet-friendly, water resistant, outdoor-use or protection-focused.

Customer Support

Feeds common customer questions into product pages, guide updates, measurement instructions and returns-prevention content.

Store Operations

Checks that fulfilment, delivery, returns, inventory and price claims match what customers can actually see and use at checkout.

Editorial rules

  • Do not invent customer stories, experts, tests, retail locations or brand compatibility.
  • Use water resistant unless a finished product has documented evidence for a stronger claim.
  • Name a sofa model only when the model has been checked or the limitation is clearly stated.
  • Link buying guides to relevant collections, products, care pages, measurement pages and claim policies.
  • Show update dates and remove guidance when product availability or evidence changes.

How pages are reviewed

Page type Primary reviewer Evidence checked
Product page Product and Fit Team Variant sizes, colours, materials, imagery, price, care limits and product-specific fit notes.
Collection page Product and Fit Team Search intent, product selection, best-for guidance, not-ideal guidance, internal links and collection schema.
Guide or blog Editorial review Visible helpful answer, original Sofa Decor examples, product links, external sources where needed, FAQ visibility and schema alignment.
Policy or claim page Store Operations Returns, shipping, fulfilment, claim terminology and customer-support consistency.

What must be visible before schema is added

Structured data should never be used to say something customers cannot read on the page. If a guide uses FAQ schema, the questions and answers must be visible. If a product page uses review or aggregate-rating data, those reviews must be visible and connected to genuine review records. If a page says a cover is suitable for pets, the page must also explain the limitation: fabric covers help with everyday use, fur, washing and direct-contact protection, but they are not chew-proof, claw-proof or a guarantee against damage.

The same rule applies to shipping, returns and pricing. Product pages, collection pages, Shopify structured data, Google Merchant Centre data and Bing/Microsoft Merchant data should agree with one another. When they do not, the customer-facing page should be corrected first, then the feed or schema should be updated to match.

Content update triggers

  • A best-selling product changes price, image, name, material, variant size or compare-at price.
  • A customer support question reveals sizing confusion, washing confusion or an unclear product claim.
  • Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools shows impressions growing for a query where the page has low click-through rate.
  • A product becomes unavailable, discontinued, replaced or materially changed.
  • A new original image, real-home result, measurement example or home-use test becomes available.
