Sofa Decor Product Claim and Testing Policy
This page explains how Sofa Decor uses product terms such as water resistant, pet-friendly, non-slip and compatible. It exists so customers, search engines, marketplaces and AI answer systems can understand our claims without overstating what a fabric sofa cover can do.
Our claim standard
Water resistant
Used for covers or surfaces designed to delay light liquid absorption and make quick cleanup easier. Water resistant does not mean sealed, submersible or permanently liquid-proof. Spills should be blotted promptly and the care instructions should be followed.
Liquid-proof claims
Reserved for a complete product only when Sofa Decor has documented evidence that the finished cover meets a defined liquid-proof standard. If that evidence is not available, product and guide copy should use water resistant instead.
Pet-friendly
Means the cover is chosen for practical pet households, such as easier washing, forgiving texture, extra seat protection or reduced direct wear on the sofa. It does not mean claw-proof, chew-proof or immune to damage from sharp claws or heavy use.
Non-slip
Means the design includes grip, texture, weight, backing or installation features that help reduce movement. Sofa material, cushion shape, user movement and installation still affect the result, especially on leather or very smooth upholstery.
Fit compatibility wording

Unless a specific sofa model has been checked, Sofa Decor should not claim universal brand compatibility. Customers should use the measurement guides and product size information before ordering.
Protection scale

Sofa Decor Home Test method
Where Sofa Decor publishes a product test, it should describe the exact product, variant, surface, method, timing and limitation. A home-use test is not a laboratory certification unless stated. Test areas can include light-spill beading, absorption time, washing change, drying time, pet-hair removal, grip on fabric and leather-like surfaces, pilling observations and seam durability under ordinary handling.
This policy is intentionally conservative. It is better to give customers a precise limitation than to make a broad claim that a fabric product cannot reliably support.
