QUIET COLOUR, DISTINCTIVE DETAIL
Give your sofa an understated grey layer
Create a relaxed look with the Sofa Decor Slate Chenille Tassel Sofa Cover. Fine diagonal texture adds interest to the grey surface, while a short fringe finishes the loose drape across the back, seat and arms.
Let the grey anchor a mix of cushions, or pair it with pale accessories for a quieter arrangement. Broad folds emphasise the relaxed shape; a smoother seat gives the sofa a more even outline.
Make the drape your own. Choose how much of the front and sides you want to cover, and where you want the fringe to fall. Check the size information below before ordering.
DETAIL WITHOUT A BOLD PRINT
A subtle pattern rewards a closer look
Fine diagonal lines change direction in a small zigzag pattern, with lighter details running through the grey. From across the room, the overall effect stays understated.
Use the texture as a backdrop for a patterned cushion, or combine it with plain cushions in different colours. The small-scale design leaves room for other details in your room.
Ask us for the fabric details if you have a particular fibre, weight or feel in mind.
A SIMPLE FINISH
Let the fringe frame the sofa
The short fringe adds a decorative outline to the hanging edge. Show it along the front for a continuous line, or let it follow a looser fold at the sides.
Choose an edge position that suits your sofa height. A shorter drop leaves more of the base visible; a longer drop brings more grey into the arrangement.
Slate comes in the grey style shown, with Size as the only current option. Try pale cushions for contrast, warm timber alongside it, or a patterned accent to make the seat a focal point.
Lighting and screens affect the apparent shade. Confirm the colour before ordering if you need an exact match to another grey in your room.
FIND YOUR SIZE
Choose your drape
Slate comes in three listed cover sizes. Measure the fabric path over the back, seat and arms, including your preferred front and side drop.
| Size option | Listed cover dimensions |
|---|---|
| 1-2 Seater (180x270cm) | 180 × 270 cm |
| 3 Seater (180x340cm) | 180 × 340 cm |
| 4 Seater (180x420cm) | 180 × 420 cm |
Compare these cover dimensions with the area you want to drape, allowing for any fabric you plan to tuck in.
MEASURE THE WHOLE FABRIC ROUTE
Plan the coverage in two directions
Use a flexible tape to follow the surfaces the throw will cover. Include the arms, back and drops you want, as well as the flat seat.
- Across the sofa: follow the route over one arm, across the seat and over the other arm, ending where you want each side edge to fall.
- From back to front: measure from the intended rear edge, over the back and across the seat, then down to your chosen front edge.
- Any folds or tucks: record these separately so you can include the fabric they use in your total.
- The final edge position: note where you want the fringe to sit relative to the sofa base and floor.
Measure with the cushions in their intended positions. Covering them and placing fabric beneath them create different routes.
For help choosing, send both measurements and a photo of your furniture with your preferred Size label.
THINK ABOUT THE RECTANGLE
Balance the front drop and side drape
All three Size labels have a 180 cm side; the other side changes. Compare both listed dimensions with your two measured routes when planning the orientation.
If the longer side runs across the arms and seat, extra length in that direction adds to the side drape. It does not create a deeper front drop.
Broad arms and a tall back each use part of the available fabric. Decide which areas you want to emphasise, and where exposing some original upholstery would suit the look.
A chaise or corner sofa needs its own coverage plan. Describe the layout and intended covered areas when asking about suitability.
A RELAXED FINISH
Choose smooth lines or generous folds
Spread the fabric more evenly for a smoother seat and front edge. Let broader folds fall across the surface for a more casual arrangement.
Set the back and side edges first, then adjust the front. Move the fabric a little at a time until the drops feel balanced from your usual view of the sofa.
Leave the fringe visible where you want a finishing detail. Check the corners and sides as well as the front, following the supplied positioning instructions.
Put your cushions back and adjust the folds around them. Smooth or reposition the loose throw after use as needed.

A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS
Choosing your Slate throw
What works well with the grey texture?Read answerClose answer
Plain cream cushions keep the arrangement quiet, while a patterned cushion adds contrast. Warm timber nearby brings another colour and surface into the room.
Should I choose by the number of seats?Read answerClose answer
Use the seat-count name to identify the option, then compare the listed dimensions with your full coverage routes. Arms, back height and your preferred drops all affect the fabric needed.
Can I choose the other gallery sizes?Read answerClose answer
Only the three Size options in the table are currently listed. The gallery pairs with 150, 230 and 300 cm longer sides are not selectable here. Explore other sofa covers if you need a different format, and check their own size information.

Slate Chenille Tassel Sofa Throw Cover
Slate has a grey chenille texture and a short fringed edge for a relaxed sofa update. Its rectangular throw design drapes over the back, seat and arms, with loose fabric falling around the edges. Smooth it across the areas you want to cover and arrange the overhang to suit your sofa.
Choose your size
Choose one of three sizes for this grey style:
- 1-2 Seater (180x270cm) — listed cover dimensions: 180 × 270 cm
- 3 Seater (180x340cm) — listed cover dimensions: 180 × 340 cm
- 4 Seater (180x420cm) — listed cover dimensions: 180 × 420 cm
Plan your preferred drape. Use the dimensions in the size selector when choosing your cover, allowing enough fabric for the areas you want to dress.
Measure for the coverage you want
Measure the full area you want to drape, allowing fabric for the back, arms and front drop. Compare both measurements with the listed cover dimensions; the seater names alone cannot tell you how the throw will fit your sofa.
Care
Follow the care label supplied with the cover for washing and drying instructions.
